10 Years of Sound. A future in Harmony.
For 10 years, Youth Orchestras of Namibia (YONA) has been changing children's lives through music. Founded in 2016 by my mother, Gretel Coetzee, the organization uses music and the orchestra to spark social change – creating unity in diversity and empowering children not only musically, but also academically, socially, and personally.
In September, I'm returning to Namibia to be part of the 10th anniversary celebrations. I'm really looking forward to working with the young musicians, coaching them, and performing Max Bruch's Romance for Viola with the orchestra at the concert on September 12th.
